Skin Salve Soap for sensitive skin, eczema, dermatitis, and other difficult skin conditions

Skin Salve’s soap is designed to lock in natural moisture for the skin. This stops the skin drying out and keeps it supple, and less prone to cracking and itching.

This creates a protective, non staining barrier, giving the skin a chance to repair itself, and protecting it from further irritation.

Why it works

The soap contains no vigorous cleansers or fragrances and its skin enriching quality greatly aids the process of repairing damaged skin, helping to improve dry skin conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.

This soap has been in use worldwide for over 30 years on all types of sensitive skin, including those suffering from eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. It has a proven track record of providing relief, and in some cases a cure for all types of distressing and often painful skin conditions.

When examining the labels of typical soap bars, you'll notice a range of 10 to 20 ingredients listed. These may encompass fragrances, chemicals, and colourants, along with fillers and potential irritants such as Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). These components serve as cost-effective methods for soap production, but they may not always be beneficial for your sensitive skin.

Skin Salve soap contains just 7 ingredients, including

Sodium Tallowate: Renowned for its cleansing and moisturising properties, Sodium Tallowate has been a staple in soap manufacturing, contributing to the creation of bars that are beneficial for the skin.

Sodium Cocoate: Derived from Coconut oil, Sodium Cocoate serves as a surfactant, effectively eliminating dirt, oil, and other impurities while simultaneously providing moisturisation to the skin.

Glycerin: Glycerin enhances the skin barrier by attracting moisture from the air, ensuring skin hydration and minimising water loss.

Tocopheryl Acetate: Vitamin E is commonly known as an anti-inflammatory agent for the skin. Functioning as both a 'humectant' and an 'emollient,' it aids in water absorption by the skin and retains it within the skin. Additionally, it has demonstrated efficacy in alleviating eczema for some individuals. Tocopheryl Acetate is a common ingredient in various anti-aging creams, eye serums, sunscreens, and makeup products.

How to use

After washing your skin as you would normally, take a generous amount of soap and emulsify it in your hands with water. This creates a rich creamy lather which should then be worked into the dry skin areas and left to dry on the skin, then rinsed off. This process can be repeated two to three times daily.

This creates a protective, non staining clear barrier, allowing the skin smoothing and softening process to occur.

As with all Skin Salve's products it is important not to use any other skin care, bath foam, soap, shampoo, deodorant, perfume, aftershave, or washing powder for the duration of the programme, as this may interfere with its effectiveness.

How it's made

We use the traditional Cold Process method for making soap - this gives us complete control over the ingredients, standards and process allowing us to create a better product for our customers.

After the soap is made, it is allowed to cure for at least four weeks. This creates a harder bar, which lasts longer, produces a better lather and is more gentle on your skin.

As this is handmade soap, there may be some imperfections in the bars.
